When I help clients look at resto mods that are for sale on the Internet, I’ve come to expect something that is very consistent across the market….vehicles with issues. I’m not talking about small, common mechanical or cosmetic problems which every vehicle is going to have, but rather vehicles with something so fundamentally flawed about their design or execution in the build process that they aren’t really usable. It is common in the restomod world because the amount of engineering that goes into these one-off vehicles is usually extremely substandard compared to even the worst OEM. Some of you know exactly what I’m talking about and might have even been in a situation with the kind of vehicle I’m talking about.

Here’s what’s nice though, this is not one of those vehicles. This has to be one of the most dialed in and drivable 60 series Land Cruisers I’ve ever had the pleasure of driving. It is the product of a very solid build platform and concept plus plenty of real world testing and repetitive improvements. The 69/80 mashup and the Cummins R2.8 are both something we do a lot at Proffitt’s Resurrection Land Cruisers, so we already have the concepts and processes nailed. And I n this case, the client basically continued the quality control process throughout his ownership, having us tweak things and improving himself lots of other small things.

Here is what the vehicle is not though, it is not one of our full stage three restorations. It went through an almost identical process, with a fully restored chassis and underbody, but rather than a full vehicle refinish, we kept some of the paint from an older Restoration. Therefore, cosmetically there are some small issues with the paint. Especially on the hood and one quarter panel. It’s very presentable, but there are a few chips and paint failures that may or may not need to be addressed, depending on what you plan on doing with the vehicle.

This vehicle is at the shop and available immediately, which for some is significantly better than our current two year waiting list. Read on in the description for a full list of the vehicle’s features, and as always feel free to reach out with any questions.
