This Cummins R2.8 powered FJ45 came to us (as many have) with a slight overheating problem. The shop that built the rig did a decent job on the conversion, but they used an electric fan. We’ve done 61 of these conversions to date and learned early on that it takes a mechanical fan to cool them properly. We installed a mechanical fan and built a custom aluminum fan shroud. This made a 30 degree difference in engine temperature!
While we had the Land Cruiser in the shop, we also performed our PRLC suspension shackle reversal. This drivability upgrade is a common sense, high bang-for-the-buck modification that makes the cruiser drive better, ride softer, and track straighter down the road.
