it’s a common belief that Land Cruisers imported from the Middle Eastern countries are going to be rust free. after all, it’s the desert, right? Wrong! While it’s true that some GCC imports have less rust, when we started looking, this FJ62 had more rust than we expected. Then to make matters worse, it had been covered up, poorly. The just goes to show that the tendency to take shortcuts when building vehicles is a universal thing.
So, we fixed the rust correctly and refinished about half of the body. We re-created the original stripes with help from Touge Nation , and finished it off with a complete new interior using OEM replica cloth. The finished product? Not a full restoration, but a heck of a nice FJ62!
