We helped sell this incredible survivor FJ40 in our Land Cruisers for sale section. My son and I decided to make a road trip out of it to pick it up and bring it to the shop. If you haven’t don’t a road trip in a classic Land Cruiser at least once in your life, you haven’t lived. We got stranded in a snowstorm and bought matching butterfly knives.
Once at the shop, we made a plan to do exactly what this low mike survivor needed. And that, generally speaking, is as little as possible. These rare vehicles need to stay authentic. We have it a very thorough mechanical inspection and repaired everything that needed it. We also eliminated the few areas of rust that were there, including the infamous bottom-of-the-bib rust. This can only be done by separating the individual pieces as the pictures show.
Survivor Land Cruisers also need to be used, so after it was ready, the new owner joined us at Cruise Moab 2026 to wheel it on the trails of Moab Utah and participate in the 40s only run.
