1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Rock Crawler

A blast from the past? Yep, this body off resto-mod 1976 FJ40 Rock Crawler that Proffitt’s Cruisers built in 2009 (?I think) is available for sale. Back then, we were building lots of big crawlers like this and they all dominated Moab and all of the other 4X4 trails they saw. This style of build faded with the introduction of the side by side, but now that they (some call them sand fleas) are EVERYWHERE (and no longer have any originality), I bet crawlers like this come back. Now’s your chance to get ahead of the game!

This FJ40 Land Cruiser has had an interesting and storied life (and an easy one) since we built and used it in Moab so many years ago. It found it’s way to Kansas City, where it became an icon, celebrated and adored by Kansas City Royals and Chief’s fans. It was used in countless parades and events for the sports teams and for charity events. I bet a side by side will never achieve that kind of notoriety.  A few photos of it’s celebrity days are shown, and there’s even one of me driving it up White Knuckle Hill in Moab when it was only 2 days old!

Originally, the 40 was VooDoo Blue, a new Toyota FJ Cruiser color introduced in the same year the vehicle was built. Currently, it is wrapped in a satin gray. We are told there are a few areas of new bodywork under the wrap.

Firm price is $40,000. This Land Cruiser is located at PRLC and can be inspected by interested parties by appointment. Inquires should be made by email to the shop at info@resurrectionlandcruisers.com or by calling (970)596-7363
