1981 Land Cruiser FJ60

Categories: ,

This is one of those Land Cruisers that I call “a car with an identity crisis”. Too nice to part out, but there are better restoration candidates out there. Vehicles like this tend to sit around in our inventory forever, because it’s hard to decide what to do with them. Parting it out would easily be the most profitable decision, but that would take it off the road, and that would be wrong. So I’ve decided to offer it up here for a very reasonable price. I’d love it if someone would buy it, take it on as a small project and then enjoy it.

This FJ60 is significant because 1981 was the first year of the model. That’s cool enough in itself, and there are several intricate differences between it and later models.

I think I bought this FJ60 in 2017. It’s been sitting around the shop since then, but a month or two ago we pulled it out, threw a battery in it, and it started right up! That’s pretty much the status of it. I’m sure it needs a lot, but it would give a lot in return.

Priced at $3500 firm, only selling to people who will promise to keep it on the road.
